Three Tips to Optimize Twitter
Are you thinking about getting your firm onto Twitter, but don’t know where to begin? Have you been tweeting for a while, but have the feeling that you might not be doing it right? Whatever your unique challenge, here are a few tips to help you optimize Twitter.
Develop a Strategy
You would never go to a jobsite or an audit unprepared, so why would you go to Twitter without first developing a strategy? Think long and hard about whom you want your audience to be and what you want to say to keep them engaged. Post about news and events that are of interest to your target audience.
Prepare a Topic and Keyword List
Once you’ve decided whom you want to engage and what you want to say, develop topic and keyword lists that are of interest to your intended audience. From there, search for hashtags that contain or relate to your keywords. Using these hashtags will help your tweets get discovered by your intended audience.
You can’t just tweet every once in a while and expect to gain new followers, get retweets, and have valuable conversations. Create a content calendar, in which you post consistently throughout the week. Then follow that calendar and engage away.
